Inter Miami manager, Javier Mascherano, has suggested why his team was defeated 4-0 against Paris Saint-Germain in the FIFA Club World Cup Round of 16 tie on Sunday.

Mascherano watched as PSG humiliated Inter Miami in the Club World Cup last-16 encounter at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

A brace from Joao Neves and a goal each from Tomas Aviles (own goal) and Achraf Hakimi gave Luis Enrique’s side the victory against the MLS club.

Speaking at his post-match interview after the game, Mascherano admitted that the difference between Inter Miami and PSG was very big.

According to the Argentine, Inter Miami faced the best team in the world, adding that the French Ligue 1 champions have an incredible manager in the person of Enrique.

Mascherano said: “You could see the difference between both teams. It’s very big, but we tried to work hard and compete.

“We faced probably the best team in the world with an incredible manager.”

He added: “I’m proud of my players. If anything, we competed well.
